Overview

Last year, silver.solutions implemented for Amoena a multi-shop system with PIM functions and Dynamics NAV integration for the entire product range based on the e-commerce solution Multishop by silver.solutions. The task for the current project was to replace the existing Amoena end customer shop in the UK and relaunch it in a new design and with new functions and to create the corporate website for the UK in parallel.

The solution in detail

The online shop obtains its product data from the international PIM. The silver.e-shop stores the entire product database of Amoena taking into account country-specific sizes and measurements. Which products are available for which markets can be decided on individually.

Amoena.co.uk has all the important functions of a modern end customer shop. In addition to product descriptions, intuitive colour and size selection features and information about availability, purchase recommendations are also displayed. The shop has an extensive facetted search function which allows users to filter the entire product range according to individual needs. Large slide shows with high-quality images and embedded flash technology and videos make the website visually attractive. An address check during the order process improves delivery reliability and thus helps reduce costs.

In addition to the shop itself, Amoena provides its customers with additional information and advice on products in need of explanation. Downloads of informational material and catalogues complete the range of offers. A forum run with the CMS is available for customers to exchange information and as a communication channel between Amoena and its customers. There is also a product rating and comment function. A dealer search connected to Google Maps is currently in preparation.

silver.solutions has implemented a number of interesting marketing functions for Amoena.co.uk. Using a promotional tool, for instance, multi-buy promotions (e.g. buy 3 get one free) can be implemented as well as product-specific discounts and money-off coupons. All campaigns can be automated and be given a time limit. Under “My Account” the shop also gives access to previous orders, invoices, a wish list function and address management.

For newsletters and promotional emails, the e-marketing solution of ermarsys is used. The shop sends new registrations to emarsys, which then sends out welcome emails which can include discount codes if necessary. Existing customers are sent regular emails containing product recommendations based on their user profile. After a prolonged period of inactivity emarsys triggers a process whereby a reminder is sent out to reactivate existing customers.

A number of special processes were implemented in the shop in order to do justice to the special features of the Amoena products. In the UK for instance, medical devices can be exempt from VAT. Another separate process is the ordering of samples for a trial fitting. This is done in close alignment with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, so that no invoices are sent out for the samples and the returned items can be tracked.

In addition to the end customer functions themselves, the shop also provides important additional features for the operator. A form generator deserves a special mention; it allows the shop operator to generate forms himself and to either send them to emarsys or Microsoft Dynamics NAV or email the information.

The result

Amoena.co.uk now has an attractive and dynamic website and a well-designed shop with a direct connection to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Through the integrated CMS, Amoena UK can deal with data maintenance in-house and provide current content promptly. According to external tests, the fresh and feminine design is very popular with the target group and the website looks very respectable.
