The studibooks.de B2C shop uses the e-commerce solution by Ibexa. Orders are directly passed on to Navision. The import of product data from numerous catalogues with extensive bibliographic contents is a special feature. This information is complemented by additional data from Navision und updated in the online shop every night. Products not yet maintained as items in Navision are created when ordered in Navision and routed through a release workflow. The shop categories are equally imported and consolidated by various vendors.

The handling of pre-announced books and sequels was implemented especially for the publishing industry. These books and sequels are treated separately in the shopping cart. When accessing the shopping cart, the availability is inquired from the logistics centre at runtime in order to ensure that the ordered books are actually on stock.

The shop offers a large variety of filter functions and sorting options through the integrated search engine, enabling users to filter result lists subsequently by publishing company, category, year of publication, author, number of pages and price margin.

In addition, a bonus system was integrated, enabling bonus points acquired from the vendor to be redeemed at studibooks.de and settled with the vendor.

The result

An attractive and high-capacity B2C shop using the book trade’s industry standards and offering the complete currently available assortment of German books as well as additional foreign topical publications to customers was set up in no time.
