Overview

The goal of the project was to replace an existing online shop and connecting the shop to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Existing customers were to be moved to the new shop so that they experience a smooth transition. New languages should be able to be added at any time. Another important specification was the possibility of cross-selling and newsletter dispatch.

The solution in detail

The client chose Magento as its shop software, which has proven to be successful and is available as a community edition. Magento has a number of marketing functionalities as well as extensive configuration options for article data. The B2B-Connector developed by silver.solutions combined with the Magento interface is used for the ERP connection. This allows the seamless transfer of orders and new customer data to NAV.

The shop is fully functional anonymously as well as with registration. Coffema offers machine parts, consumables and catering supplies online. The support-intensive machines and contracts are still sold by trained sales staff. It is possible for the shop to offer discounts on discontinued models and similar at any time. The shop’s design is fully based on the existing website and adjusted to meet the requirements of the shop.

For Coffema, an important criterion for choosing Magento is the easy-to-use interface for editors and staff as well as the option to largely maintain and service the shop in-house.

The result

With Magento, Coffema now has a modern online shop that is also ready for any future specifications. The shop now looks even more professional and better reflects the company’s image. The direct connection to Microsoft Dynamics NAV significantly optimises order processing.
