Modern corporate site and B2B online shop with Navision integration

With the new corporate site with integrated B2B online shop, Indunorm has reached a milestone in its more than 40-year company history and thus laid the foundation for a successful future. For us, the internet is a central communication and sales channel, which at Indunorm is closely interconnected with the sales and service team. This combination is designed to provide the best possible benefit to our customers.

The collaboration with silver.solutions throughout the project was very solution-oriented and straightforward. As a team, we dealt with and responded to challenges flexibly and quickly. The staff at silver.solutions were very committed members of the project. We would like to thanks them very much.

Our InduShop now has been live for a few weeks, and our experiences are very positive. Furthermore, silver.solutions has been providing support for any teething problems quickly. For us, this means that we have found a reliable and competent partner for our online activities today and in the future.

Overview

Initially, silver.solutions was commissioned with the implementation of a new website for Indunorm. In a second step, a fully-fledged B2B shop – the InduShop – was to be added. For customers not registered, the InduShop serves as a comprehensive online catalogue.

The solution in detail

An eCommerce solution by silver.solutions is used in the shop. The standard B2B-Connector interface serves as a connection to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The link to the product information management system JCatalog is implemented via an XML export. The entire website can be managed with the integrated CMS.

On the corporate page, Indunorm introduces its services and system partners. Here, the Ibexa CMS has all the advantages of a mature enterprise content management system. Content structures can be configured to any depth, overviews are generated automatically and content is presented in an appealing way using sliders and teaser boxes.

The complete catalogue, technical information as well as the latest measurement charts can be downloaded easily. Changes to the printed catalogue are made available for download soon after the changes have been made.

For many years Indunorm has been hosting seminars, training courses and advanced training to accompany its product portfolio. On the new website, people can register for these events.

For the Sprinter® partners a Google Maps search was integrated to allows customers to find their nearest Sprinter hydraulic service quickly and easily.

The InduShop features more than 9 sections containing in excess of 16,000 product variants. The master data are imported from JCatalog and information from the ERP is added. The shop reflects a number of special features in the dispatch of material sold by the metre. In order to avoid offcuts and scraps, the quantity shipped when ordering goods by the metre is adjusted slightly depending on stock. For instance, only 28 m of hose will be delivered and charged for if a new reel would have to be started for 30 metres. For an additional charge, customers can select the option ‘exact cut’. In some cases, goods sold by the metre will already be pre-cut. Starting a new packaging unit would also incur a surcharge.

In addition to sector-specific features concerning the dispatch of material sold by the metre, the product detail view in the InduShop also offers more common options such as recently viewed products and accessories that are assigned through JCatalog.

Registered customers can compare up to three products that they have selected themselves in a table.

The customer area for registered customers contains an order history, a notepad and a quick-order function. The quick-order function can be uploaded using a CSV file or using a form. The shop and the ERP support debtor article numbers.

Particularly useful for customers is the display for the responsible office and field staff in the shop. This information is derived from the ERP. The data about the different contacts are managed in the shop’s content management system.

The result

With the new website and the InduShop, the company paints a clear picture of its innovative force and its strong market position. For customers, the online shop represents an innovative companion to the much-used printed catalogue. Customers can now place and manage orders independent of office and business hours. For Indunorm, the online shop is an opportunity to present its updated product range independent of the dates and issues of the printed catalogue.
