Overview

For Batterien-Vertrieb & Special Products Winfried Hückmann GmbH silver.solutions have implemented a B2B online shop with connection to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The solution is based on the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) eZ Publish and uses the B2B-Connector as an interface to Navision.

The solution includes an online shop, the integration with the Ibexa platform as well as an interface to Microsoft Dynamics NAV via the B2B-Connector. Articles can be edited by editors directly in the CMS. The Content module provides a sophisticated roles and policies management, so that it is possible to differentiate between users using different functionalities in the shop. In the shop the existing Navision product group structure gets mapped onto a 4-level navigation. Sorting is done by product groups, sub groups, manufacturer and models.

  • Not registered users can browse the catalog but can’t see prices and cannot order in the shop.
  • Registered users can use extensive basket functions and various service functions. Prices display the individual conditions (information comes directly from ERP)
  • Product images get watermarked in an automated procedure. Only customers with special permissions are allowed to see and download the product images without watermarks.
  • On the product detail page compatible products are displayed for the article selected. At the touch of a button a search for products can be started that other customers bought together with this article.
  • The advanced search allows searching for product properties and technical data such as model, voltage, capacity, weight etc. Furthermore a professional search is available which is based on the Apache search engine Lucene. Order possibility is provided directly on the search result page.
  • The shop has an integrated customer center, which authorized customers can use to activate and manage user accounts for their companies.
  • Further functions in the shop are: order history, Top10/My Top10, quick order, bookmarks.

The result

The integration of an advanced search for technical data allows the customer to search fast and targeted for products also from different manufacturers. Via the well structured catalog requested products can be found easily. The connection to Navision via the B2B-Connector provides the display of individual prices and up-to-date stock information. In the order history section customers can see their orders, invoices and back orders.

Customers can also use various service functions such as quick order which provides a quick and comfortable order possibilty of frequently ordered articles (by article number) or the customer center which allows authorized users to manage shop access and contact activation comfortably in the shop. Furthermore users can see general and personal Top10 lists and orders directly from those lists. The service and marketing functionalities of the shop make the order process easier for customers and push the sale.
