B2B shop for IHR table decorations and interior accessories
Given our extensive collection and the associated data maintenance work, we were looking for a B2B web shop that is flexibly connected to our MBS Navision System. Another important point was the possibility of implementing our own design requests. The solution offered by silver.solutions meets these requirements and also leaves plenty of room for further development. silver.solutions was commissioned to implement a comprehensive B-to-B shop for the DACH region and the Netherlands. The shop was supposed to be directly connected to a Navision client. In addition to the standard functions of the eCommerce solutions, we had to make a number of specific adjustments and amendments for the client.
The solution in detail
We are using the integrated eCommerce solution bx Ibexa. Updated catalogue data will be transferred to the shop at regular intervals. Via the Web Connector, shop transactions will be exchanged at runtime with Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
Availability of products and customer-specific prices amongst other things will come from Navision. For customised price calculation the business logic system in Navision can be used. Direct order transfer to Navision and sending back offer and order numbers also happens in runtime. For existing customers, we implemented an automated clearing process with a security question for Navision.
The BtoB shop is bilingual for four countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands).
The design of the online shop was created by IHR inhouse and turned into templates by silver.solutions. The structure of the main navigation is determined by seasonal sales cycles. The navigation structure below that, which has up to 6 steps, is in line with IHR’s customary categories for the print catalogues. Products may be assigned to more than one category. From Navision, a code controls which themes, decorations and products are displayed.
Other important functions include the search engine based on Solr and the service area, which provides insight into customer receipts and arrears.
In addition to traditional catalogues, IHR now also offers its customers a modern BtoB shop to make orders. Existing customers can register online quickly and easily. The direct connection to Navision optimises the ordering process and provides improved customer service. The user-friendly search function allows you to find items from a range of more than 10,000 products.
